Surfactants are drilling mud additives that function by altering the surface properties of the liquid and solid phases of the mud or by imparting certain wetting characteristics to muds. Surfactants may be used as wetting agents, emulsifiers, lubricants or foaming agents. AMC has developed a range of products with these properties specifically for use in the mining and water well drilling industry.
